This Pinot Noir belongs to Tiefenbrunner's Turmhof line. A red wine that originates in the hills of South Tyrol and whose name, 'Turmhof', refers to an ancient castle that dominates the Tiefenbrunner estate. The grapes used to produce this Pinot Noir come from selected vineyards. Optimally exposed plots that extend over several slopes, reaching heights of up to 900 metres. The soil here is characterised by a great variety of elements: it ranges from clay soils of moraine sediments to gravelly and sandy soils. This diversity contributes to a complex and multifaceted wine. Here, Pinot Noir expresses its finesse and great elegance at its best. The vinification of Turmhof Pinot Noir takes place in cement barrels, where the grapes ferment on the skins for an extended period. Subsequently, the wine matures in wood, both in barrels and large casks, to acquire complexity and harmony. If to the eye this Pinot Noir shows an intense ruby red colour with garnet hues, the nose reveals a pleasant, fruity aroma with notes of blackberries, raspberries and cherries. In the mouth it is soft, balanced and persistent, with fine tannins and a pleasantly long finish. Perfect with white meats such as chicken and turkey, it also goes well with rabbit and pork. Try it with semi-matured cheeses and tasty first courses.
