Terre di Tufi, in reality, is a perfect blend of two native varieties, Vernaccia di San Gimignano and Trebbiano, carefully selected from the best plots of land and enhanced by a super careful processing. It is, as the managers of the company themselves admit, the true jewel in the crown of the Teruzzi Winery. It comes from a pellicular maceration in the press for one night followed by a soft pressing and fermentation in steel at controlled temperature. It is aged for about 9 months, partly in steel and partly in 5-hectolitre tonneaux and used barriques. The wine is then blended and left to rest for at least another 6 months in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The result is a white wine characterized by a beautiful bright straw yellow colour, with aromas of good intensity and persistence. The taste is pleasant, with good complexity and balance. Fruity notes well integrated with those of the wood, make the wine intriguing. Finally, its distinctive acidity and sapidity make it easy to drink.
