We have written it many times: Barolo lovers are not looking for a simple wine... they want to experience a territory. And with this Barolo Brunate DOCG, the result is assured. A time-defying masterpiece born on the hills of the Langhe. A monumental wine that comes from the area of Castiglione Falletto, 250 metres above sea level. A unique terroir, characterised by limestone-clay soils and a south-eastern exposure that maximises sunshine. The Brunate vineyards, in particular, enjoy an exceptional microclimate, with warm days and cool nights that favour a perfect ripening of the grapes. In the countryside, old vines between 50 and 60 years old are able to yield grapes that are concentrated and rich in extracts. The result ‘ A deep, elegant and long-lived wine. Manual harvesting and careful selection of the ripest and healthiest bunches. Fermentation and maceration take place in stainless steel for about 25 days, at a controlled temperature, preserving the freshness and vivacity of the aromas. Malolactic fermentation follows, which softens the tannins and gives the wine a more harmonious profile. Ageing in 20-hectolitre French oak barrels for about 30 months then gives Oddero's Barolo Brunate DOCG complexity, elegance and a long capacity for evolution. A ruby colour that takes on garnet hues with ageing, the nose seduces with a bouquet reminiscent of roses, violets, wet earth and ripe red fruit. With age, tertiary hints of spices, liquorice, leather and truffle emerge, enhancing the aromatic complexity of the wine. In the mouth, monumental structure and refined elegance. Vibrant acidity and powerful yet velvety tannins create a harmonious and persistent sip. The finish is long and satisfying.
