It is called Mezza Pezza and it is a Primitivo Salento IGP proposed by Masseria Trullo di Pezza. Made from 100% Primitivo grapes from the vineyards of Lizzano, in the province of Taranto, this fresh Salento wine is made in stainless steel. Certified organic wine, in the glass it has a beautiful bright ruby red colour with purple reflections. The nose reveals a "crunchy" intensity, with fruity and decisive scents of morello cherry, plum and a whiff of tobacco. In the mouth, it is very pleasant, round and agile, with a nice fruity finish. A simple but not banal wine, this Apulian red goes well with first courses with meat sauces. But also mature cheeses and grilled meats. Difficult to put it to the test.

Pezzale is an elegant Primitivo di Manduria DOP Riserva. A super intense wine that encapsulates all the expressive power of an enchanted land. The result of a pure processing of Primitivo grapes, this Salento red wine begins its journey with a long phase of skin maceration that lasts about 12 days. The whole time the mass of skins is kept in motion, with frequent délestage in stainless steel vats. At the end of vinification, the necessary maturation takes place in first-passage French oak tonneaux. Here it rests for about a year, before being bottled and left in the cellar for a further 6 months for final ageing. Produced in about 4,000 bottles, this elegant Primitivo di Manduria Riserva presents itself in the glass with an intense ruby colour, with garnet hues. The nose reveals great intensity and good complexity of ripe red fruit, interspersed with spicy and mineral nuances. In the mouth it offers a perfect balance between elegant tannins and lively freshness. Full-bodied, it guarantees a long taste-olfactory persistence. Try it with first courses rich in flavour, roasted and braised red meats.

Apulia, and in particular Salento, is a land famous throughout the world for the quality of its rosé wines, produced from good local grapes. This is also the case of this Speziale, Negroamaro Rosato Salento IGP proposed by Trullo di Pezza. The grapes, cultivated according to the dictates of organic viticulture, grow in the company's vineyards in Lizzano, in the province of Taranto. The aim is to create a fresh and fragrant rosé, rich in scents and flavours. For this reason, the grapes, harvested when perfectly ripe, are brought early to the winery to be processed. After prior destemming and crushing, the mass is divided into two halves. One part ferments in white. The other undergoes cryo-maceration for 6-8 hours to extract colour and fresh aromas. In the glass it has a beautiful bright coral pink colour. The nose offers a pleasant intensity, with notes of small red berries with delicate flesh, accompanied by a hint of dog rose. On the palate, however, it is enveloping and fresh. Balanced and perfectly consistent with what has been perceived previously. Good for a thousand occasions, this Salento rosé is extremely versatile. It can accompany an entire meal from aperitifs to main courses. Try it with vegetable-filled focaccia, pizza or salami and medium-aged cheeses.
