One of the famous Maison's most iconic Champagnes, 'R de Ruinart' is a great classic. The result of a balanced blend, always the same year after year, 'R de Ruinart' is made from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes with a small addition, around 3%, of Meunier. In the blend, about 25% reserve wines, stored in the cellar from previous vintages, are usually added to the vintage wines. This makes the final cuvée richer and more complex, resulting in a particularly pleasant Champagne, balanced in its components but above all fine. In the glass it has a beautiful straw yellow colour and a fine, persistent perlage. On the nose, notes of white-fleshed fruit, apricot, citrus fruits and a slight toastiness. The style of the A ‘ house is unmistakable. The result is a wine that is strongly structured but with a clear and precise expression, aged on its lees in the bottle for at least 36 months. Antique pink in color, with a fine perlage that makes it very bright, the nose is pleasantly fruity, with distinct notes of ripe strawberry, currant and blueberry, against a buttery background with hints of cookie and almond. In the mouth, it is creamy but fresh. Pleasantly structured, long and lively, on the table it always knows how to give great satisfaction. Excellent with prawns or lobster, some people also enjoy it as an end to a meal, perhaps accompanied by a bowl of strawberries or raspberries au naturel.
