Pure excellence. El Aziz is a magnificent wine, as evidenced by its name, which - in Arabic - means 'The Magnificent'. A passito wine, it is produced by Cantine Fina and comes from a careful selection of Grillo grapes dried on the vine. These grapes come from a single vineyard located in western Sicily, at an altitude of approximately 200 metres above sea level. The climate here is Mediterranean, with long, hot, windy summers and mild winters. Harvesting is strictly by hand in the first ten days of October, when the grapes have reached a light withering on the vine. Once in the cellar, the grapes are vinified in steel with a slow and controlled fermentation. The wine then matures for six months in steel and a further six months in the bottle before being ready for tasting. Intense straw yellow colour with clear golden hues, tending towards amber. The nose reveals a complex and enveloping bouquet, with notes of very ripe and dried white fruit. Clear hints of pineapple, peach and apricot, to which are added vanilla, honey and sweet spices. In the mouth it is warm, soft and structured, with a persistent and pleasantly bitter finish. A meditation wine, it accompanies blue cheeses and creamy desserts such as mousses. To be tasted calmly, to fully savour all its nuances and complexity.

It is called Kebrilla and is a pure Grillo, Sicilia DOC, proposed by Cantine Fina. Grillo is one of Sicily's oldest vines, encapsulating the aromas and sensations of this magical land. The grapes that give life to this wine come from vineyards located in western Sicily, at an altitude ranging from 150 to 450 metres above sea level. The climate here is Mediterranean, with long, warm, breezy summers and mild winters. Ideal conditions for producing a fresh and aromatic wine. Harvested at the end of August when perfectly ripe, vinification takes place partly in steel and partly in barriques, to give the wine complexity and structure. The wine then matures for three months in the bottle before being ready for tasting. Kebrilla has a brilliant straw yellow colour. The nose reveals an intense and complex bouquet, with floral, citrus and white-fleshed fruit notes. In the mouth it is fresh and savoury, with a pleasant minerality. The finish is persistent and aromatic. Ideal with fish, shellfish and crustaceans, it also goes well with fresh cheese and risotto. It is also suitable as an aperitif.

Taif, Terre Siciliane IGP proposed here by Cantine Fina, is the best demonstration that a great aromatic grape variety like Zibibbo, normally associated with the production of sweet wines, can also be perfect for creating interesting dry whites, excellent to be served throughout a meal, starting with an aperitif. Taif, 100% Zibibbo, comes from the winery's vineyards located in western Sicily, on a gentle hillside about 300 metres above sea level. At the end of August, the best grapes are harvested and quickly brought to the cellar to be processed in full respect of the raw material. Fermentation in stainless steel vats and refinement in bottles for six months before release. In the glass it has a beautiful straw yellow colour with greenish reflections. Round, mineral and fresh, this intriguing aromatic white wine has a broad bouquet that ranges from fruity scents of peach and mandarin to herbaceous hints of sage. Above all, however, what is most striking is the finish that recalls floral notes of rose and wisteria. On the palate, it initially has a warm note, but this is well balanced by its natural freshness and delicate acidity. Persistent, it has a pleasantly floral finish. It goes very well with starters and shellfish. It is also perfect with delicately smoked and fried fish.

Lovers of aromatics and good Sicilian wines, this is the bottle that you absolutely must have in your cellar. It is a Sauvignon Blanc, purely produced by Cantine Fina and proposed as Terre Siciliane IGP. In Sicily, this vine has been widespread since the mid-1990s. And the best island productions are obtained from vineyards located over 400 metres above sea level, where conditions are less extreme and where a beneficial temperature range between day and night favours the appearance of finer, more characteristic aromas. Generally, these wines are made in stainless steel, precisely to safeguard the finesse of the initial aromas. In the glass it has a beautiful pale straw yellow colour. On the nose, the first thing one notices are the typical herbaceous and vegetal scents reminiscent of tomato leaves or green peppers. On the palate, however, it is the intense fruity notes that stand out, bringing to mind exotic fruits, such as pineapple and banana, as well as floral hints of elder, broom and hawthorn.

Are you looking for an unusual and unconventional sparkling wine ‘ Well, you have found it. Makisè, a sparkling wine proposed here by Cantine Fina, is a Terre Siciliane IGP produced with pure Grillo grapes. This vine, which most people associate (correctly) with the production of Marsala, is also often used in the elaboration of interesting, strongly territorial white wines. In this case, in particular, part of the grapes used by the winery come from the vineyards along the sea coast in front of the island of Mozia. A magical place of incredible charm, where the green of nature, the blue of the sea and the white of the piles of salt freshly extracted from the sea enrapture the gaze of anyone passing through these parts for the first time. Elaborated in autoclave for about two months, this sparkling white wine has a beautiful straw-yellow colour with greenish reflections. On the nose, the fragrant, floral and fruity scents typical of the grape stand out, while in the mouth it is an extremely fresh and pleasant wine from the very first sip. If we want to surprise our friends with a different aperitif, we'd better make sure we always have at least one spare bottle ready in the fridge. It is hard to assume that one glass is enough. It can be addictive!
