Puglia IGP Bellagriffi by CRIFO. This white wine originates in Contrada Bellagriffi, an area located in the Ruvo di Puglia countryside. The contrada benefits from a special microclimate, influenced by the gentle hills sloping towards the Adriatic Sea. The soil is predominantly calcareous and rich in minerals, providing an ideal substrate for growing vines. This Bellagriffi is made from Moscatello Selvatico in purity, an indigenous Apulian vine that represents a real treasure of the territory. Cultivated using the traditional alberello system, Moscatello Selvatico is known for producing aromatic and fresh wines. Harvesting takes place between late August and early September. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly transported to the cellar for destemming. The bunches are cooled to 10° and undergo a short maceration in the press for 4-6 hours, a crucial step to extract the aromas from the skins. The flower must obtained is then fermented in stainless steel and the wine matures for 40 days on the lees before being bottled. This is followed by a further 2 months resting in the cellar before release. Intense straw yellow, enriched with golden hues, a bouquet immediately emerges on the nose that combines the delicacy of tea rose with the sweetness of white peach, while citrus fruits add freshness. Subtle notes of anise and sage enrich the aromatic profile, leading to a fresh, slightly balsamic finish, with returns of medicinal herbs and rosemary that linger on the palate.
