Brand: Taittinger
Category: Alcoholic Beverages

All the Prestige of Maison Taittinger history is encapsulated in this simply stunning Champagne Rosé. The offspring of a special blend, it comes from 70 percent red wine, made from the best Pinot Noirs from the Montagne de Reims and Riceys, a village surrounded by vineyards where grapes are traditionally grown to make rosé wines and champagne. This unusual cut gives the final cuvée an unmistakable color and vibrant intensity. The high proportion of Chardonnay also provides the wine with a pleasant elegance and delicacy. In the glass it has an incredible bright, vibrant pink hue. As in the Maison's style, the effervescence is particularly delicate, with a very fine and persistent perlage. The nose is fresh and youthful, with very clear aromas of wild raspberry, cherry and black currant. In the mouth, however, it strikes the perfect balance, between velvety and full-bodied. Lively, fruity, fresh and elegant. As only a rosé blend can be. It is the elegant bubbly that requires elegant pairing. With lobster, in particular, it is a love marriage. Also good with a delicious slice of fruit cake.

Domaine Seguin Pouilly Fumé Cuvée Prestige 2022 - Country: Italy - Capacity: 0.75

Brand: Domaine Seguin
Category: Alcoholic Beverages

Pouilly Fumé is a dry white wine produced in the Loire region of France from the Sauvignon Blanc grape. This wine is characterised by its fresh, mineral and savoury style with good acidity. A fine example is this Cuvée Prestige from Domaine Seguin, made from Sauvignon Blanc grapes from three particular vineyard parcels, which are harvested late. After destemming, the grapes are pressed and the must obtained is fermented in temperature-controlled steel tanks for about 18 days. The wine is then left to mature on its fine lees for a period of 3 to 6 months. This practice, common in the production of Pouilly Fumé, contributes to giving the wine greater aromatic complexity and a richer structure. During this period, the lees, i.e. the solid residues of vinification, are left in suspension in the wine and periodically stirred to encourage oxidation and the release of aromatic compounds. The result is a complex white with aromas ranging from floral to fruity notes, with a fine mineral undertone that recalls the particular composition of the soils of Pouilly-sur-Loire. The Cuvée Prestige is particularly suited to accompany first and second courses based on fish, such as monkfish.

There is little to say. When we read the name Amarone della Valpolicella on a wine label, the bar of our expectations is inevitably raised. And in this case, in front of this Montindon Amarone, our expectations are well placed. A wine of great prestige, it is made from the best grapes from the Valpolicella hills, traditionally dried on racks. Then, after racking, it is aged at length in the winery's underground cellars until it reaches the right complexity and richness. Son of Corvina, Rondinella and other indigenous and recommended vines, the company vineyards are located in the hilly area of Sant'Ambrogio, the historical part of Valpolicella. Old plantings with an average age of 20 years but, for some Corvine, can reach up to 35 years of age. A robust, full-bodied and warm wine, this Amarone della Valpolicella is a great traditional wine. Perfect on the table, it enhances the pleasure of roasts and game, but also of meats with a stronger flavour, such as roast lamb or all hard cheeses.

It is difficult to think of a red wine made from pure Gaglioppo grapes and not fly with the imagination to the beautiful vineyards of Librandi. One of the wineries that have been able to bring the greatest prestige to the region of Calabria and its good local grape varieties. This Segno, Cirò Rosso DOC, certainly does not disappoint expectations. Typical, original and immediate at the same time. Harvested between the end of September and the beginning of October, this red wine of the area is made by a careful vinification in temperature-controlled steel tanks, with soft pressing of the grapes and short maceration. At the end of processing and after racking, the wine is then kept in steel tanks for the subsequent ageing phase. After bottling, and before release, the wine then rests for a few months in the cellar for further ageing. The result is a pleasant and intense red, like the aromas of the Mediterranean maquis. Excellent with grilled meats and medium-aged cheeses, this red wine 'made in Calabria' should not remain in the cellar too long. It is particularly appreciated in the first three years after release.
