If Chardonnay is - par excellence - the grape of the whites of Burgundy, in Italy, and particularly in Trentino, it has always proved to be at home. Its floral notes and hints of yellow-fleshed fruit make this grape the absolute protagonist both in the case of wines aged only in steel, ready to drink a few months after the harvest, and when left to mature for a long time in oak barrels. Merum is the Chardonnay of the Lagertal house. It is a wine that encapsulates the aptitude of the terroir (with a vocation for viticulture) and the ability of the winery's oenologists to extract its characteristics to the full, transforming it into a great Trentino DOC wine. A 'pure' Chardonnay, just like its name. A simple but accurate vinification process, at the end of the transformation the wine is decanted into steel tanks where it rests for about 6 months before bottling. This is followed by a further rest in the bottle for about 3 months before release. Straw yellow in colour with greenish highlights, the nose reveals an intense and fine bouquet of flowers and yellow fruit, particularly Golden apple. In the mouth, however, it is harmonious and persistent with good freshness. A very versatile white, it is perfect as an aperitif or to accompany fish dishes, shellfish, white meats and mature cow's milk cheeses.
