A magnificent place. A hilly setting, typical for the Friuli region. It is here that the grapes destined to give life to the wines of the Felluga family's Russiz Superiore estate ripen. Magnificent soils, consisting of an alternation of marl (limestone loams and clays) and sandstone (cemented sands). These are ideal places for growing quality grapes, thanks also to the fortunate microclimate, influenced by the large temperature swings between day and night that give the wines freshness and minerality. Strictly manual harvesting, after picking, the grapes are separated from the stalks. The juice and pulp undergo cold maceration, then a gentle pressing that allows separation from the skins. Approximately 15% of the must is fermented in oak barrels, the remaining 85% in steel tanks. The wine is then left to rest for about eight months on the lees and then in the bottle. Straw yellow colour with shades tending towards green. The nose is characterised by intense and elegant vegetal and floral notes. It is easy to distinguish sage, pepper, acacia flowers and grapefruit. In the mouth, on the other hand, it delivers beautiful emotions thanks to its intense flavour. A structured and balanced white wine. The perfect balance between freshness and savouriness make it an ideal wine for the whole meal.

We are in the heart of Collio. In the vineyards of the Felluga family's Russiz Superiore estate in Capriva del Friuli. Here the Pinot Bianco grapes destined for the production of this wine are cultivated and harvested when fully ripe. A hilly environment, with soils rich in minerals and a beneficial temperature range that favours the birth of fresh, mineral wines. After harvesting by hand, the grapes are separated from the stalks. The juice and pulp undergo cold maceration, then a gentle pressing that allows separation from the skins. 20% of the must is fermented in oak barrels, the remaining 80% in steel tanks. The wine is then left to rest for about six months on the lees and a few months in the bottle. Straw-yellow colour. The nose reveals an intense aroma with fruity and floral notes. In particular, clear hints of ripe peach, apple, white-fleshed fruit, wild flowers and broom stand out. In the mouth, it is full and elegant, with a perfect correspondence to what was previously perceived. Excellent as an aperitif, this Friulian white is perfect with delicate fish dishes. Excellent, even with freshwater fish.

A red wine of the territory, Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso is an ancient indigenous variety, born between Carso and Istria, whose presence in our north-east has been witnessed as far back as 1467. Russiz Superiore cultivates it in its vineyards in Capriva del Friuli, where it reaches perfect ripeness and is harvested by hand to be quickly delivered to the winery and begin processing. The de-stemmed grapes are placed in tanks equipped for red vinification where alcoholic fermentation takes place, with maceration of the skins lasting about 10-15 days, depending on the vintage. The wine is then left to mature for twelve months in oak barrels, where it also undergoes malolactic fermentation. After bottling, the wine then matures for a further six months in the bottle. Intense red in colour with slight ruby hues, the nose is enveloping and intriguing, fresh and fruity. Characterised by fragrances reminiscent of raspberry and wild blackberry. In the mouth, expectations are amply fulfilled and the wine proves to be particularly persistent, prolonging the pleasure of each sip for several seconds. On the table, one is spoilt for choice. In fact, it goes well with sliced meats and cold cuts, mature cheeses, tasty meat-based first courses and second courses, again meat-based, stewed or grilled.
