Penley Estate "francis" Cabernet Franc 2022 - Country: Italy - Capacity: 0.75
Svinando.co.uk
Brand: Penley Estate
Category: Alcoholic Beverages

Originally from France, Cabernet Franc has found a second home in Australia, where it thrives in several wine growing regions. Here it produces wines characterised by elegance and complexity. The best areas are Margaret River, Yarra Valley and Coonawarra, where the cool climate and chalky soils give the wine vibrant acidity and distinctive minerality. A fine example is this Francis, Cab Franc offered by Penley Estate. Matured in French oak barrels for 14 months, about 15% of which are new, and in stainless steel for a further 6 months, this Australian red presents itself in the glass with a beautiful, bright red colour. On the nose, raspberry leaf, red liquorice, black cherry, cardamom and pink pepper. A pleasantly floral and crisp bouquet. In the mouth, the tannins are fine and it is easy to find a good correspondence with the previously perceived scents, with a core of red fruits and spices. A versatile wine, it is perfect with meaty first courses, red meat main courses and mature cheeses. For lovers of elegant and complex red wines, this Cabernet Franc is a bottle not to be missed.

Brand: Penley Estate
Category: Alcoholic Beverages

Its name describes the soul of the Colombo winery and recalls the desire to embark on a new project, a new path for viticulture in the area. A wine defined as "feminine", warm and harmonious, it comes from a pure processing of Pinot Noir grapes from hillside vineyards located between 250 and 400 metres above sea level. Once in the cellar, the grapes undergo alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel, followed by malolactic fermentation, in this case carried out in wood. Finally, the wine matures for 15 to 18 months in tonneaux and large barrels. Only then is it bottled to continue with refinement in glass for a minimum of 6 months. In the glass it has a beautiful bright ruby red colour, with slight garnet reflections that tend to appear with age. The nose is reminiscent of well ripe small red berries, such as cherry and sour cherry, followed by floral notes of dog rose. Then sweet spices of vanilla and liquorice of great intensity. In the mouth it is warm and harmonious, with soft sensations linked to elegant but still firm tannins. Good structure and persistence that presage a wine destined for a long evolution.

A modern, eye-catching label, this wine comes from the Coonawarra region and is made from 100 percent Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. Tolmer, as its producers explain, is a modern expression of Coonawarra's Cabernet, rich in aromas and flavors reminiscent of ripe fruit, medicinal herbs and spices. Over all, cranberries, bay leaves and a delicate touch of cinnamon. Medium-bodied, never excessive, it can count on fine, well-integrated tannins. The finish, long and pleasant, hints at good cellar aging potential. For those looking for a structured but pleasantly drinkable red wine, this bottle is the one. On the table it calls for flavorful pairings, such as with classic pasta alla Norma or medium-aged cheeses.

Penley Estate "blewitt Springs" Shiraz 2022 - Country: Italy - Capacity: 0.75
Svinando.co.uk
Brand: Penley Estate
Category: Alcoholic Beverages

Blewitt Springs is located in South Australia. It is a semi-rural suburb of Adelaide, within the City of Onkaparinga. We are, more or less, an hour away from Adelaide's city centre. It is here that Penley Estate grows the grapes for this Blewitt Springs Shiraz. A red wine of exceptional power and finesse, it is made from grapes that have been sun-kissed for long periods of time and nourished by chalky, sandy soils. After the grapes are harvested, vinification is carried out using a combination of whole berry fermentation with gentle cap management. After processing, the wine matures in mature oak barrels. Intense ruby red colour with garnet hues, the nose reveals an enveloping aroma of berries, plums, black pepper and liquorice. In the mouth, however, it is full and structured, with velvety tannins and a lingering finish. Good already today, it is undoubtedly a wine that is also suitable for some ageing. Capable of evolving over the years, it will give a complex and soft sip for a long time. Perfect with main courses of red meat, game and mature cheeses.
