Charpentier, a Champagne company known for its focus on quality and winegrowing tradition. The vineyards are located in Villers-sous-Chatillon, an area with excellent potential for the cultivation of typical grape varieties. This Champagne is mainly made from 95% Pinot Meunier, with an addition of 5% Pinot Noir. To the eye, Veuve Clesse Black Label Brut presents a beautiful straw yellow colour with golden reflections and a fine, persistent perlage. The nose immediately reveals intense citrus aromas, with hints of candied fruit and slightly toasted notes. On the palate, however, this Champagne is balanced and rounded, with a pleasant smoothness that invites one to savour it. The finish is also soft and pleasantly persistent. A fresh wine, not excessively complex, it is especially appreciated in the first five years after production. Perfect to accompany hors d'oeuvres and fish or white meat dishes. A rosé bubble that is sure not to leave the many (many) fans of the type indifferent. We are talking about Charpentier's Rosé Réserve Brut Champagne. Pleasantly organic bubble that comes from the largest region of Champagne. We are obviously talking about the Vallée de la Marne and to be precise from the village of Villers-sous-Chatillon. Pinot Noir for the very large part (about 80%) and Pinot Meunier for the remainder, vinification begins with an initial alcoholic fermentation in thermoregulated vats, followed by malolactic fermentation and subsequent blending with reserve wines. To achieve the rosé color, a small percentage of red wine, no more than 11 percent, is also added to the blend in this house. Red wine, in all cases, is also vinified by the winery, using Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir harvested from old vineyards over 50 years old. After bottling, the aging phase on the lees continues for about 30 to 36 months. In the glass, we discover a wine characterized by a beautiful coppery rose gold color, almost salmon, with fine, nervous and persistent bubbles. The nose is promising and fruity, with fresh fruit notes reminiscent of black currant, quince and fresh flowers. In the mouth, then, sharp hints of red fruits, cherry and black currant, good body and character.
