It is difficult to think of a red wine made from pure Gaglioppo grapes and not fly with the imagination to the beautiful vineyards of Librandi. This Segno, Cirò Rosso DOC, certainly does not disappoint expectations. Typical, original and immediate at the same time. Harvested between the end of September and the beginning of October, this red wine of the area is made by a careful vinification in temperature-controlled steel tanks, with soft pressing of the grapes and short maceration. At the end of processing and after racking, the wine is then kept in steel tanks for the subsequent ageing phase. After bottling, and before release, the wine then rests for a few months in the cellar for further ageing. The result is a pleasant and intense red, like the aromas of the Mediterranean maquis. Excellent with grilled meats and medium-aged cheeses, this red wine 'made in Calabria' should not remain in the cellar too long. It is particularly appreciated in the first three years after release.
