Its name, Fiulot, means boy in Piedmontese dialect. And it is a name that is perfectly suited to a Barbera like this, delicate and very drinkable. It is, as the experts explain, the perfect expression of the fragrance and youthfulness of the fruit. The best grapes harvested in the estate vineyards are picked when they are perfectly ripe, and the bunches are destemmed and pressed when they arrive in the winery. Maceration begins, lasting about 7 days, followed by alcoholic fermentation. After racking, the wine undergoes the usual malolactic fermentation and is transferred to stainless steel tanks before being bottled the following spring. Fiulot presents itself in the glass with a beautiful, bright and intense ruby red colour. The nose is decidedly vinous and fruity, characterised by hints of plum and cherry. In the mouth, however, it is fragrant and pleasant, perfect to accompany simple but tasty dishes of the regional tradition. It is also excellent with salami and medium-aged cheeses.

It is the wine of tradition par excellence. We are talking, in this case, about an interesting Barbera characterised by great freshness and drinkability. The grapes, harvested when fully ripe, come from Prunotto's own vineyards, which are located in the most beautiful areas of the denomination. Clayey and sandy soils, ideal for the cultivation of Barbera grapes from which a wine of great balance and pleasantness is obtained. After harvesting, the grapes are crushed and destemmed. This is followed by a maceration phase lasting about a week, alcoholic fermentation and malolactic fermentation. The entire transformation process is completed by mid-December. The following spring, wines from different vineyards are blended and bottled. In the glass, Prunotto's Barbera d'Alba has a ruby red colour with violet reflections. The nose is vinous, with fresh floral hints of roses that combine with sensations of ripe fruit and spicy notes. In the mouth, however, it is a full and harmonious red. An excellent everyday wine, this Barbera goes well with the main traditional local dishes. Excellent, for example, with classic ravioli al plin served with meat sauce.

If Barbera is the most widely cultivated vine in Piedmont, and Nebbiolo is what many consider to be the noblest, it is undoubtedly Dolcetto that Piedmontese farmers have always brought to their tables. A historic wine of the ancient Piedmontese winemaking tradition, in this version proposed by Prunotto it is aged in steel, to enhance the fragrance and vinosity of the fruit, typical of the variety. 100% Dolcetto harvested in the estate vineyards when perfectly ripe, on arrival in the cellar the grapes are destemmed and crushed. The maceration phase lasts about 7 days, at a controlled temperature, and after the alcoholic fermentation the malolactic fermentation is also promoted. This leads to the month of December, when the ageing phase begins in stainless steel tanks. Bright ruby red in colour, on the nose this Dolcetto reveals its vinous character, with notes of flowers and ripe fruit. In the mouth it is full and harmonious, with a pleasant almond aftertaste. A simple but not trivial wine, this Dolcetto is the perfect accompaniment to a rich Piedmontese bollito misto.
